Super Eagles 2024 Coach

Jose Peseiro has ended his tenure as the coach of the Nigerian national football team, the Super Eagles. His contract came to an end after the Africa Cup of Nations tournament. (source: owngoalnigeria.com)

As of now, there hasn’t been any confirmation regarding his future with the Nigeria Football Federation. Peseiro took over the role in December 2021 but didn’t manage the team during the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

Instead, he observed while Augustine Eguavoen led the team. Under Peseiro’s guidance, the Super Eagles reached the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations but lost to Ivory Coast.

Although there were issues with his salary payments, Peseiro’s contract with Nigeria was reportedly renewed after the tournament.

He’s been linked with the vacant coaching position at Algeria but hasn’t made a decision yet on whether to stay with Nigeria or accept the offer from Algeria.
