6 Fashion Books You Need as A Fashion Designer
Do you want to start a fashion business or become a fashion designer? Here are six fashion books that have motivated me and can help you understand the industry better.
The 10 Step Guide to Developing and Producing a Fashion Collection
A fantastic book that clarifies the steps involved in creating a fashion collection is Blue is the New Black. For anyone at any stage of their fashion journey, it simplifies the entire process. You will therefore find this beneficial whether you are a beginner, a student, or an established designer.
An Illustrated Guide to Building a Fashion Brand
Undoubtedly among my favorites! This is a fantastic book that provides an outline of the factors you should take into account when beginning your own fashion company. This is not a business textbook by any means; rather, it is more of a straightforward checklist and guidance.
The New Encyclopaedia of Fashion Details
One of my first purchases when I started teaching myself to draw and sew was this classic book. The book includes extra drawing tips as well as around 1,000 different fashion details. For designers, artists, and anybody else interested in fashion, this is the ideal resource.
Fabric for Fashion: The Swatch Book
This book provides information about various fabrics and is quite helpful. The best thing is that there are swatches included for you to feel and touch. This book particularly interests me, especially at this time of year when shops are closed and we are unable to visit fabric stores.
How to Set up & Run a Fashion Label
Although the fashion industry is creative, in order to run a successful fashion firm, you also need to understand business principles, regardless of how good you are as a designer. This book covers everything, including how to manufacture your collection, marketing, public relations, and where to find the funding to pay for it all. A terrific resource for clothes manufacturers and designers to have in their library.
Fashion Entrepreneurship: Retail Business Planning
Anyone interested in beginning a retail business should start here. Designers will benefit less from this, while fashion entrepreneurs would benefit greatly. It covers everything from merchandising, operating processes, human resource development, and financing and offers the knowledge required to create a thorough and effective company plan.
