Nathan Wade, a former law partner who worked with special prosecutor Fani Willis, has been in the spotlight due to their relationship. The controversy centers on when their romantic involvement began and possible conflicts of interest.

Initially, there were claims that they started their relationship while Wade was still married and before Willis appointed him. Both Willis and Wade testified that their romantic involvement began in early 2022, after Wade started working for her office, and ended in the summer of 2023.
