Kabiru Masari And Tinubu

Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is said to have chosen Kabiru Masari as his running mate for the 2023 elections.

This was revealed by Kabiru Faskari, a party chieftain from Katsina state, during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday. In contrast to the need for a Muslim/Christian APC ticket, Faskari noted that choosing Kabiru, a Katsina State native, does not violate the country’s laws.

“Ibrahim Kabir Masari is our vice presidential nominee and he was the National Welfare Secretary of the APC under Comrade Adams Oshiomhole,” Faskari stated on Channels TV. He’s a well-known politician,” says the narrator.

“Well, he qualifies as a veteran in terms of politics,” Faskari remarked when asked about Masari’s religious affiliation. He began his political career as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party. He is a young man who stands for youth. He is well-versed in politics, having served as a national officer of the APC.

“He is fairly close to the presidential candidate because he has known him for a long time, and I feel putting his name out there was a really well-informed decision.” The APC’s decision comes after INEC set a deadline for presidential contenders to submit their running mates’ names.

The APC is said to be using Masari as a placeholder in order to beat the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) deadline of Friday, June 17th for presidential contenders to submit the names of their running partners.
