Kenyan Gayright Activist, Edwin Chiloba Death
On Wednesday, January 4, Kenyan law enforcement opened an inquiry into the death of model and LGBTQ activist Edwin Chiloba. Chiloba was killed in Kenya.
Along the Kipenyo-Kaptinga road in Kapsaret, Uasin Gishu, the body of Chiloba was discovered after having been murdered and his body having been concealed in a metal box.
The initial investigations conducted by the police have revealed that a vehicle that did not have a license plate was witnessed dropping the metal box in the general vicinity.
The situation was brought to the attention of the officials of the law who were stationed at a nearby roadblock. The officers fled their post and made a dash for the location of the incident.
When the box was opened, a man’s body that had been decomposing for some time was discovered inside wearing the clothes of a woman. In the end, it was determined that the dead body belonged to the fashion designer who was also a champion for gay rights.
After that, his remains were sent to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital, where they are currently awaiting a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death while investigations get underway.
Chiloba was well-known around the nation for being a champion for LGBTQ causes. Resila Onyango, a spokesperson for the Kenyan Police Force, commented on the event and stated that they do not yet understand the motivation behind it.
“We don’t know for now why he was killed that way. Experts are handling the matter,” she said.
After Edwin was harassed and attacked, ostensibly due to who he was and the work he had done in gender-fluid fashion and content, he uploaded the horrifying photographs that are shown above on Instagram at the beginning of July 2022.
